Reviews

Imperial Palace was perfect for us. We were looking for a place which could cater to allowing me to have a small gathering and also to find a comfortable and modern place to stay for a few nights for my partner and I. Had my 30th birthday there and the owners were excellent at providing some extra glasses for my small event. Also appreciated the champagne on arrival!
Thank you so much for all your help and hospitality - everything was so easy and relaxed. The bedroom was gorgeous with the view and the privacy also was excellent. Had no concerns at all with this house and would happily return again.

'Wonderful views, all the commodities included, and honestly, in the island nothing is to far away if you got a car. Nice for families that want to have their kids and also some privacy from them :). but probably not if they are too young, because this house is like two houses on the same space. Pleasant and comfortable.'

Property Description

Get away from it all in a modern, light and spacious environment and enjoy the stunning views over rolling hills to the sea. Look no further - Imperial Estate has it all.

Nestled in lush natural fauna and bush surroundings, the retreat offers total peace and privacy in extraordinary surroundings and is only a 10-minute drive from the car ferry and 15 minutes from the passenger ferry.

Driving there is magical. Imperial Estate is at the end of a beautiful road that takes you into the entrance to Whakanewha Regional Park. The extraordinary park is walking distance with a sheltered swimming beach at high tide and birdwatchers can spot kereru New Zealand dotterel and pied stilts. The bays and inlets are perfect for kayaking and there are many easy walking trails to explore including the Tarata Track to the Cascades’ waterfall.

And if you want to relax and do nothing, just lounge on the verandah and enjoy the ever-changing vista. Or maybe a yoga practice amidst the pristine surroundings. For an afternoon outing, head up the road to Batch Winery for High Tea and Bubbles then enjoy their relaxed island-style restaurant dining.

That’s outside. What about inside? The vast master bedroom sits in its own separate pavilion, divided from the main living area by a beautiful covered deck that joins the two spaces. Large panoramic windows provide an expansive view of the Estates own olive grove. Enter the modern ensuite bathroom with a massive walk-in shower which boasts not one but two shower heads.

The large kitchen is so well-equipped that if you feel like settling in for your escape, you have everything needed to create fabulous meals or maybe just have a good old kiwi BBQ on the deck.

Start the evening with a drink at the bar and then enjoy a leisurely dinner at the large dining table. Settle in to the comfortable couches and a good movie on the oversized television with Sky TV. The wood burner adds a cosy element to those winter nights.

Each one couch converts to a double bed for extra guests in the living area, allowing the property to sleep up to four people.

Onetangi Beach is 10 minutes away and Omiha/Rocky Bay with its famous local café operating on the weekends is minutes away. Frenchman’s Hill, Te Motu, Tantalus, Wild on Waiheke and Stonyridge vineyards will provide you with many local dining options and award winning wines. Spot some of these famous vineyards from the verandah.

For keen (or novice) mountain bikers, you are adjacent the Waiheke Island Round Rangihoua Loop trail in the Onetangi Sports Ground where there are six trails forming two loops.

We recommend arriving with your own means of transport or use the friendly taxi services on the island. Make the most of the off-street parking if you want to bring a boat.

PLEASE NOTE: An exit cleaning fee of $115 applies to each stay. Minimum stays: 7 nights between mid-December and mid January, 3 nights’ holiday weekends and 2 nights all other times. Linen, including bath towels, is included.
